Greeting to you in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Please give special thanks to STW for providing funds for my vehicle. In our Himalayan region the work of God is growing very fast, and every Sunday the Hindu and Buddhist people are coming in and they accept Jesus Christ is their personal Savior.
At our conference at Gangtok, 9 people were baptized. Please pray for our ministry and that God will give us more power to do the works in our Himalayan region.

The much anticipated All India Church of God Youth Conference (AICHOGYC) was for the first time taking place in Siliguri hosted by The Council of the Church of God, West Bengal under the local leadership of Rev. Sanjay Daniel Murmu and his youths. Much prayer has gone into the preparation for about a year. Come 3rd January 2009 and time was there to see the dreams, visions and the prayers being answered as Rev. Hasael Murmu, the Chairperson of the council opened the conference with a word of prayer. The Children of Hope Child Development Center, presented two dance to welcome the delegates.
The conference took place in Maheswari Bhawan, which is barely 50 meters from the church building. Three floors were booked to accommodate the delegates and for the dining arrangements.
The theme of the conference was: “This We Believe… This We Proclaim…” emphasizing what Church of God Movement stands for and what We are called to be. Rev. Dr. Leaderwell Pohsngap, International Director of Global LEAD Alliance from Shillong, Meghalaya and a recognized leader of the Church of God was the main speaker of the conference. He spoke on the following themes: CHURCH, HOLY SPIRIT, UNITY, HOLINESS and CREED.
One hundred sixty-three youths from different regions of West Bengal as well as from different assemblies and states came to attending the conference. We were richly blessed by revisiting what we believe and what we proclaim and making a self examination by aking the tough question: DO WE PRACTICE what we believe and proclaim? The feedback form provided to fill and return indicates that the young people were touch by the teaching of unity and holiness.
The worship was lead by the Agape Team from Kolkata, especially during the evening sessions, where the local members as well as others joined us. Rev. Asim Das (Orissa), Rev. Brooklet Kharduit (Shillong) shared the Word of God. Mrs. Revuilet Lingdoh, wife of Dr. Leaderwell spoke on the 4th January a combined Sunday Service for the conference delegates as well as for the local church members. The conference ended with foot washing and Lord’s Supper on the 5th evening.
This Youth Conference was historic in two ways; this was the first All India Church of God Youth Conference taking place in Siliguri and secondly the National Leaders of the Church of God, India were meeting at the same time to discuss and take a major step in seeing the All India Church of God General Assembly take place in the near future. This was planned and facilitated by Dr. Merostar Rani (President of the AICHOGYC) and Brother Sachin Das (Secretary of the AICHOGYC) though he was not able to stay behind for the meeting. Representatives from Church of God, Meghalaya and Assam; Church of God, Ecclesia; Church of God Orissa Assembly; The Council of the Church of God, West Bengal and NEW Indian Churches Assembly were present. The good news is they have agreed to meet and Rev. Asim Das has been given the responsibility to convene the next meeting to discuss and finalize how and when do all the assemblies meet to demonstrate the UNITY that we so passionately speak off.
We take this opportunity to thank The Florida Youths for their contribution of $3000.00 and their prayers support towards the conference. We also thank Brother Patrick and the Hong Kong Church of God for their contribution of $2000.00 and their prayers for the Youth Conference.

“Thank you for the funds to purchase a four wheeler. The vehicle has already been purchased and is in use to STW. In much of India we have to be careful as we go out to share about Jesus, many try to stop the spread of Christianity. Before it would be difficult to get safe transportation and carry supplies for meetings, training events and showing the Jesus film. Now with the automobile it is much safer getting people and supplies out to various villages to hold these events.
We are also very thankful for the support that STW gave for the overhead projector, this helped to make the convention better and it will be used in several ways to STW in many areas of India. We will be able to take the projector and DVD player with a generator and share the Jesus Film in various areas.”
