 Itineration

How can the Office of Itineration help me?

The Office of Itineration exists as a liaison between the local church and the missionary in the field. The responsibilities of the itineration administrator are as follows:

  • To plan and implement the schedules for missionaries on home assignment.
  • To work hand-in-hand with the Living Link administrator to assist in the scheduling of missionaries-elect while they are in the process of raising support.
  • To facilitate the receipt and fulfillment of speaker requests for missions-related events from the local church.

How do I schedule a speaker for my missions event?

To schedule a speaker for missions-related events, call or complete the Speaker Request Form. It is best to plan at least six months to a year ahead.

What information does the Office of Itineration need to process a request for a speaker?

  1. Name of church/state organization
  2. Address
  3. Phone number and e-mail (if available)
  4. Date(s) of events (please give more than one acceptable date, if possible)
  5. Missionary/speaker requested
  6. Details about the day or days, i.e., the number of  times the speaker will be requested to speak, the desired length of each presentation, audience information (adults, adult women, children, youth, etc.), topic guidance, (morning devotions, update on missionary's work, missions education, etc.)
  7. Location of church/camp ground
  8. Contact person
  9. Contact phone number/e-mail
  10. Address for letter of confirmation

Why should I schedule a speaker through the office of Itineration for our missions-related event?

  1. The office of Itineration is designed with you in mind. It is the one place with information about who is and will be on leave, as well as schedules for those individuals.
  2. We can connect you with your Living Link missionaries if they are available.
  3. We will do the work for you. When we receive your request, we immediately go to work to contact your requested speaker. If that person is not available, we will work with you until we find a speaker suitable for your event. If we are able to schedule a missionary on home assignment, we will send you a letter of confirmation detailing the dates and times of your event, and specifying the name of your speaker, and enclose a copy of our Expense Policy for Living Link speakers. If the speaker agreed upon is not a missionary on home assignment, you will be connected with that speaker so that together you can work out the details of arrival, departure, lodging, and how the speaker may best serve those who will be in attendance.

Who will be available on home assignment?

It is our goal to provide you with accurate and up-to-date information on missionaries who are currently or soon will be on home assignment. It is our hope that this information will aid you as you plan for your missions-related events. Please keep in mind that any dates published are subject to change. These dates are tentative and are often dictated by events on the field.
