Missionary Apprentice Program
(MAP)
The Missionary Apprentice Program is the entry level for all persons wishing to begin a career in missions. They will work alongside and under the mentoring of seasoned career missionaries for a period of two years. During that time the apprentice will be mentored through the language-learning process and adjustment to a new culture. The apprentice will be involved in hands-on ministry. At the end of the two-year period qualified apprentices may have the option of transitioning directly to career missionary service.
Career missionaries partner with leaders of national churches and congregations whom they serve. Developing leadership is a priority. Missionaries may be teachers, administrators, evangelists, pastors, church planters, medical professionals or community developers.
