Regional Coordinators
Sherman and Kay have been well prepared for their current position as regional coordinators for Africa. Kay began her ministry in Kenya, East Africa, where she served for six years.
Sherman received his call to missions through three Anderson University Tri-S trips to Latin and Central America. As a couple, they began their missions career in 1979 in Tanzania. Over the course of the next twenty-six years, they lived and worked in five African countries. Their career has involved a wide variety of ministries, including leadership development, relief work, church planting, and construction.
As regional coordinators, Sherman and Kay will work with national leaders and missionaries alike in facilitating the work already established. It is also their desire to see the work of the Church of God spread throughout the rest of Africa. The Church of God exists in less than a third of the countries on the continent of Africa and the needs are great.
Sherman and Kay both graduated from Anderson University School of Theology. Sherman received his doctor of ministry degree from Anderson University School of Theology in May 2005. Sherman and Kay have two children. Son Ryan is a soccer coach for a small Christian university in Oklahoma City. Daughter Carrie is currently serving as a special assignment missionary to Central Asia.
