Tim and Colleen, both missionary kids, came to Africa as young children and have been part of the developing continent from the 50’s and 60’s respectively. Their four children, Tiffany, Natasha, Jesse, and Logan, continue as the 3rd generation of their family, having enjoyed the beautiful continent and hospitality of its people. Logan is the remaining child at home and is currently attending Heritage International School.
In 1985, the Stevenson’s served as Short Assignment missionaries in Uganda, initially working in building and educational development of a single institution.
Currently, they have developed 70 Church of God schools in Uganda, as well as starting others in neighboring countries, and they assist approximately 4,000 children in sponsorship programs, either within the schools or in personal networking through Children of Promise, Furaha in Canada, Kinderhilfswerk in Germany or through Compassion International and Samaritan’s Purse.
Being the Africa Directors for Kinderhilfswerk, has given opportunities to expand building programs, well drilling and sponsorship programs. Under Global Missions, they are overseeing the work in not only Uganda, but also Rwanda and Congo. Both serve on the Board of Heritage International School and are involved in numerous committees, playing a strong role in inter-church, inter-mission, and inter-development network building. This mindset and fundamental principal has been formed due to the realization that these opportunities and challenges all need personnel and resources far beyond their capacity.
