Church of God Ministries unveiled its newly redesigned Web site on November 1, 2004. With a fresh new look, updated content, and redesigned structure, the new site represents completion of the first phase of a plan to deliver a high-quality, feature-rich, user-friendly experience.
While the first phase of the project focused on visual appearance and updated content, one significant change is the creation of a distinct site area for content related to the Church of God reformation movement. Church of God Ministries has redeveloped existing movemental content and added new content in order to give visitors more complete information on the beliefs, history, and organization of the Church of God.
In the next phases of development, the Church of God Ministries Web presence will be expanded to offer additional content and functionality to better serve and minister to users. These efforts will include interest-focused e-newsletters, audio and video content, and downloadable resources.
As part of a desire to be the best stewards of available resources, Church of God Ministries will also begin using its Web site to shift some of its publications from print to digital formats. The first of these will be the General Assembly's Annual Reports, which will be available in a printer-friendly format online in late November, enabling a savings of thousands of dollars in printing and postage costs. For those with no Web access, loose-leaf copies of the Web publication will be available upon request.
Churches and other organizations that have Web links to pages within the Church of God Ministries Web site should take note of the fact that due to the restructuring links will no longer work. Links to pages other than the homepage will need to be updated accordingly.
Church of God Ministries invites users to provide comments and feedback regarding the new Web site, as well as suggestions for content and features they would like to see. A brief (eight questions) survey can be completed online, or comments can sent directly to Tim Brault, Web manager for Church of God Ministries, via e-mail to webmanager@chog.org.
