Anderson, IN—Church of God Ministries (CGM) will publish three books for the 2005 North American Convention of the Church of God in Anderson, June 24–29. A book of doctrine, a collection of testimonies, and biographical sketches of hymn composers are included in the list of new publications. CGM is offering prepublication discounts on all of these books until their official publication date, July 1.
 
Receive the Holy Spirit, by Arlo F. Newell, updates and expands a popular book of doctrine that was first released in 1978. The expanded edition has two new chapters on divine healing and church governance, which the author says are "areas in which misuse and abuse often occur." The new edition is available at the prepublication price of $9.95 until July 1, when the regular price of $14.95 will take effect.

Dr. Newell is a leading evangelist and author who served fifteen years as editor in chief of Warner Press. His other books include Life in the Church and The Church of God as Revealed in Scripture.

Like a Blazing Fire has the subtitle International Testimonies of God's Glory. Written by Church of God members in various countries around the world, it is a collection of true stories of Christians whose lives have been changed by God. This ninety-six-page illustrated book has a prepublication price of $2.95 until July 1, when the regular price of $4.95 will take effect.

Like a Blazing Fire was compiled by Cheryl Johnson Barton, a career missionary to Japan. Her previous publications include the testimony books Every Tongue Confess and In His Arms.

The third new book release is a reprint of Heavenly Song, by Kathleen D. Buehler. Long out of print, this 1993 book narrates how some favorite Church of God hymns were written. Including photos of the composers and copies of the hymns, this book is a useful resource for worship leaders and students of church history. Heavenly Song is available at the prepublication price of $8.95 until July 1, when the regular price of $12.95 will take effect.
Mrs. Buehler serves on the Congregational Ministries staff of CGM, editing children's curriculum material. Her other books include A Walk with Jesus, A Walk with Old Testament Heroes, and They Answered God's Call.
