Douglas A. Shearer has been appointed interim director of the Resource and Linking Ministries Team of Church of God Ministries. Shearer, a certified public accountant, comes to Church of God Ministries from London Industries Inc., in London, OH, where he functioned as the chief operating officer. He will be assuming the position made vacant by the retirement of Rev. James Martin in June 2004.

His leadership, finance, accounting and human relations skills will greatly benefit Church of God Ministries Inc. With twenty-five years of management experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis; accounting; purchasing; human resources; customer service; and information management, Shearer is well equipped to manage the Resource and Linking (R&L) Team, which coordinates support services that facilitate the North American and international ministries of the Church of God. The R&L Team of Church of God Ministries comprises the Accounting, Communications and Publishing, Information and Technology, Human Resources, and Property Management departments.

Shearer has extensive experience as a layperson within the Church of God. Growing up in Springfield, OH, he attended Hillside Church of God before moving to Anderson, IN, to attend Anderson College (now University). He later graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, OH, with a bachelor of science in business, with a major in accounting. For more than thirty years, Shearer has attended Salem Church of God in the Dayton area, where he has been involved in evangelism explosion, music ministry, teaching Sunday school, and serving on the budget committee.
