Church Plant Partnership Opportunity

During the last year, Church Multiplication, at Church of God Ministries, has invested over $200,000 in partnerships with those who are passionate about planting new Church of God congregations. We are committed to working together!
So far in 2007, we have supported church plants in Canada; Florida; Alabama; Washington, DC; Arizona; Oregon; Tennessee; Michigan; and Texas. Our desire is to continue helping plant new Church of God congregations and to offer even more financial partnerships in the future. Our goal is to partner in planting fifteen new churches in 2008, which means we will need to provide support in excess of $300,000.

Argentina: Celebrating 80 Years

 At the end of the summer, I attended the eightieth anniversary in Alem, Argentina, of the founding of the Church of God in Argentina. The theme of the conference was “Iglesia de Dios en Argentina, 80 anos. ‘Ensancha el sitio de tu tienda.’” (The Church of God in Argentina, 80 years. “Lengthen the cords of your tent,” Isaiah 54:1–2.)

2007 CBH Retreat: Renewal at The Cove

 The recent 2007 Christians Broadcasting Hope Retreat to The Cove, located at the Billy Graham Training Center in Asheville, North Carolina, was an absolutely wonderful time of renewal and fellowship with friends. Hosted by ViewPoint host Jim Lyon, this annual retreat brings people from across the United States together at the warm and friendly environment of The Cove. Each year, CBH sponsors this event as a way for CBH listeners to get away and have no other agenda except that of experiencing the presence of God in a way that will renew and rejuvenate them so that they can return home ready to once again dive back into life with a fresh perspective. Life is so busy that we seldom take time away to simply be renewed. This is a time for just that.

Spiritual Awakening at Riverside Park Church

 When Rev. Debra Klein walked into the Riverside Park Church of God in 2005, she encountered a congregation that was bruised, hurt, and angry. Several years of intense trials had resulted in heartache and distrust. Attendance had dropped from as many as 150 to no more than 20. However, since accepting the call as senior pastor, Rev. Klein has seen a spiritual awakening take place among those who attend the church.

 Imagine what it would be like to be part of the experience when over 100,000 members of the Church of God from around the world all share the ordinance of Communion at the same time. Imagine the thrill of hearing over 100,000 believers reciting the Lord’s Prayer in unison and singing praises to our Lord. You don’t have to imagine the power of such a unifying event. You can be a participant.

California Churches Unharmed by Fires

Church of God Ministries (CGM) continues to maintain communication with Church of God leaders in Southern California to monitor the situation with the wildfires burning there.
David Winn, executive director of the Association of Southern California and Southern Nevada informed CGM that his staff had evaluated the area and determined that there was no apparent damage to Church of God congregations. But Winn also said that could change.

Written by Dr. Arlo Newell, the six-booklet series is Bible-centered and clearly written, answering the most common questions people have about our Christian beliefs. Since publication in spring 2007, these short booklets have quickly become useful as a tool to help explain basic Church of God doctrines and as a simple piece of literature to introduce friends to the church.

 I’ve had the privilege of serving here as pastor for the last five and a half years. During that time, I’ve been amazed by God’s favor and grace. Since I’ve been serving here, the question we’ve been trying to answer is, if the First Church of God in Sapulpa ceased to exist, how long would it take for our community to notice?
