Church of God - General, Colleges and Universities
Lake Wales, FL—U.S. News and World Report’s America’s Best Colleges for 2009 has once again recognized Warner Southern College as leader in the south region. The college is ranked 5th in the Ethnic Diversity of its student population. Warner Southern, a Tier 3 institution, has also consistently been recognized for its low student to faculty ratio, which is 16:1. The ranking is found in the category of Baccalaureate Colleges in the South.
The rankings, available in the September issue of the magazine and on-line at http://www.usnews.com/sections/rankings/ offer an opportunity for parents and potential students to compare the nation’s colleges and universities on the basis of various statistics such as SAT scores, class size, retention, acceptance rates, alumni contribution rates, and other such information that is important in determining an institution of choice. Factors that are considered in determining rankings include peer assessment, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and graduation rate.

The Church of God Comes to North Vietnam
Church of God - General, Global Missions
Praise God! Eight years after the first Church of God presence in South Vietnam, the fast-growing church has now reached out to the north, to Hanoi. The phrase “God works in mysterious ways” holds true. God has not just brought two people together through an arranged marriage but also North and South Vietnam.
K.T. Tan, one of the early members of our Singapore congregation, was introduced to a northern Vietnamese lady named Thi Loan through an online marriage agency. They were married early this year and in April went with Singapore’s founding pastor and missionary Neville Tan and his wife Anne to Saigon to the wedding of a South Vietnamese pastor’s son. K. T. had also invited his wife’s parents to come to Saigon to meet the South Vietnamese pastors. Within six days of their meeting, Thi Loan and her parents had received the Lord and were immediately discipled and baptized at the end of the week.

Fast Decision
Church of God - General
By Victor Lee
He was fed up. Over it. Had seen enough of the big leagues. The boozing. The carousing. The lives centered on self. He was, frankly, pretty disgusted. Not that all Major League Baseball players were or are that way, but he saw the gravitational pull to self-fulfillment, and it moved him the opposite direction. So he retired. Walked away. Bowie Kuhn, then baseball’s commissioner, wrote him a letter to ask him if he was sure that’s what he wanted to do. After all, he was only 21 years old.
