Since 1998 a major focus of national work has been the revitalization of national organizations in order to achieve a greater movemental spirit and focus in the way we work and connect and relate. Through  a strategic planning process, developed through strong relational structures and partnerships, we seek to reclaim that vision and once again, through individuals, churches, and agencies, witness to Jesus Christ as the sole Head of the church.

We seek to transform the culture of the church

  • from harmful autonomy to biblical interdependency,
  • from pastoral isolation to connectivity,
  • from fragmentation to common direction,
  • from crisis orientation to mission driven;

thereby, transforming the culture of the world in the direction of the kingdom of God.

Five Strategic Goals guide our efforts. They are:

Revitalizing the Great Commission (Matt 28:18–20) in the life of every individual, church, and agency;

Engaging every individual, church, and agency in the Great Commandments (Matt 22:37–39);

Committing to stewardship principles (Matt 6:33) leading to a flexible ministry future and the management of debt (debt free as the goal) for every individual, church, and agency;

Nurturing the spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12:1–7) of every individual, church, and agency; and,

Renewing our efforts toward relational connectivity and identity (John 17:21–22) for every individual, church, and agency of the Church of God.

The papers and PowerPoint presentations found at the link below inform the church regarding progress on the achievement of the design and purpose of the plan first developed in the Strategic Planning Conference and now being implemented through the five Transformational Teams. These document developments beginning with the Nashville Strategic Planning Conference through 2007 and the beginnings of planning for 2008.
